SIM Card Won’t Fit in Tray

Hello! I recently got a new phone and I am trying to switch my SIM card over to it, but it will not fit. My iPhone 7 sim tray is a different shape than my 11, is this normal? Will I need to buy a new SIM card and if so, how do I go about doing so?

The dimensions are all the same, however the corner with the flat sort of indent has been flipped around (see image attached)

(please note that the shape of my SIM card that I did a tiny silhouette of is not the correct dimensions or proportions, it is simply to show what I mean with the corners)

I appreciate your response! However, that doesn’t change the fact that my SIM card simply doesn’t fit in the tray despite being a Nano-SIM card. It says to contact your carrier, but does that require buying an entirely new card?
