Thunderbolt 3 eGPU with the new Macmini9,1 (Mac mini M1 2020)

I have just bought a Macmini9,1 (Mac mini M1 2020) with 16GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. The machine works fine.

A year ago I bought a OWC Mercury Helios FX 650 Thunderbolt 3 eGPU Enclosure. To this I have added a Radeon VII 16G video card. This eGPU just does a very good job with my MacBook Pro 2019 (MacBookPro15,3).

When I plug in the eGPU to my new Mac mini 2020 it 'sees' the OWC Mercury Helios FX 650 device. But I cannot see the Radeon VII graphics card.

I have the suspicion that the Mac mini does not support eGPU devices as of the time being. Is this so?

Mac mini 2018 or later
