How to remove the annoying google privacy tool pop up?

Safari is my default browser and anytime I want to use google I have to "agree" to the google privacy tool. Is there a way to stop this happening? I tried using google opt out analytics, but it doesnt work. I could sign in but I feel its an invasion of my privacy or a "force" to get me to do what google wants me to do, provide data about my internet browsing. Anyone agree with me on this?

I know theres no such thing as privacy online nowadays, but we all have a right to have a choice in how our data is being used online and have a right to protect our privacy.

-I switched to Chrome and it doesnt have the google privacy tool pop up even though Im using google. Why is this?

"I want to use google ..."

Do you mean the search engine? When I go to "www.google.com" I don't see any reference to a "google privacy tool" whether i'm signed into Google or not. I don't get any pop-up. Neither is any such software listed in my Safari Extensions.

As to your last question, maybe the behavior is built into Chrome, so they don't need to ask for extra permission. But that's only a guess.

As the other commenter says, a very quick workaround is to use a privacy-oriented search engine, such as startpage or duckduckgo. If you go to Safari .. Preferences .. Search, you can specify the default search engine it will use.

Then don't use Google. Problem solved.

I realize my reply may seem curt but it is accurate. If you use Google including any of their products and services you forfeit any expectation of privacy. That is not a matter of opinion; those are the words of a federal court judge in a privacy-related case brought against Google a long ago. It should be common knowledge by now: you are the product Google sells.

His words, not mine.

By agreeing to use Google you forfeit the right to that product and any expectations of privacy you may have had for it. How does it feel to have been commoditized? Not that it matters. They're not your feelings any more.
