My charger included with my iPad 7th gen stopped working a couple of days ago. It works fine when the iPad is shut down, but it doesn’t work when I switch it on. The same issue happens with my iPhone. Can someone tell me what’s the fix to this?

You will need to systematically substitute a known good Power Adapter and cable to establish which of the two have failed - although experience suggests that the Power Adapter has developed a fault and requires replacement.

Sounds like a failed cable. You can order a replacement through Apple or on Amazon from any company that is MFi certified. Anker and Amazon make cables.
