Slide to type not working on ipad

Slide to type on ipad works initially but not working at all after that. Had checked that the slide to type function is enabled in the keyboard settings, tried restarting the ipad and had the latest ios ver. But still not working 😤. So what else could be wrong?

It sounds like you've tried some great steps already. Let's take a closer look at your keyboard settings.

About the keyboards settings on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Do you have any third-party keyboard installed? If so, let's remove these and test for the same behavior.
Do you have a physical keyboard paired with your iPad? If so, let's unpair the keyboard, then test again.
Additionally, if you have a screen protector or case on your iPad we'll want to remove them and check for similar issues.

Nope I didn’t installed any other keyboards or used external keyboards. I have also enabled only English keyboard. No casing and screen protector as I just bought it. I have enabled dictation and siri. I have also tried using the accented letters on the keyboard. Not sure if it’s because of this that the slide to type didn’t work after that.
