Why won’t apple fitness work on Roku devices

All of my TV’s are Roku enable... I am unable to screencast apple Fitness unless I use an Apple TV. The preview plays without issue...

Apple are using bait and switch here, Apple are being dishonest with its customers, the preview leads you to believe that it will work without issue.

Apple needs to fix this dishonest practice and allow the casting of apple fitness so that people can enjoy the system. It’s impossible to take a class and follow on a iPhone screen.

Deggie, you can streamcast using the Apple TV unit... has to be a newer version of course.

in talk with the tech services they stated that there needs to be an agreement between Roku and Apple.

the classes are near impossible to follow on a iPhone 12. It seems a shortsighted plan by Apple to only allow it to display on apple devices.

It isn't really streaming with an Apple TV, it is using the processing power of the device and the HDMI cable to display the video and the information from your synced Watch and communicating between both devices as it is designed. They plan even more interaction in the future but currently you do get feedback regarding your efforts on the TV screen when using the Apple TV/Watch.

The only thing we want to be able to do is screencast the fitness video on to a TV screen. It broadcasts the Audio but not the video.

The capturing of data can still go between the watch and the iPhone. The iPhone would simply cast to the TV screen.

I can get the countdown to display on the TV and then the screen goes blank.

per the apple Tech support supervisor I spoke to said that this is down to apple and Roku not having an agreement.
