I set up a personal automation in shortcuts that had my iphone play an apple music playlist when it connected to Carplay. This worked like a dream for the first bit on iOS 14, but since the iOS update to 14.3, the playlist no longer plays. The correct playlist is there on apple music when I plug in to my car, but it doesn't start to play - it used to play on it's own. Anyone else noticing this?
I futzed around and discovered this... when building the shortcut, I searched for "music". That gave me the 1st screen attached below. I was able to tap on the "Downtempo" playlist on the bottom left. Now, the shortcut looks like the 2nd screenshot and notes "play downtempo radio station" and it seems to play automatically when my phone is connected to CarPlay. If you check the image in my first post, you'll see that the shortcut is slightly different where it notes "Play Downtempo" instead. Confusing and random. Hope that can help some of you out.

my problem was gone after doing these two things: 1. restart the iPhone, 2. delete the old automation shortcut and create the same one again.
perhaps one of them was enough, we'll never know.

We see you are having some trouble with a shortcut no longer playing a playlist for you when getting into your car and connecting your iPhone to CarPlay. That is a great idea for a shortcut and we want to make sure it is working for you! Let's see if we can isolate this issue a bit further. Does that shortcut work if you attempt to use different playlists? If you make an Apple Music shortcut to play a playlist without CarPlay does it seem to work ok? What happens specifically when connecting to CarPlay? Does any music play at all or just nothing starts?

Thanks for your note. The shortcut doesn't work if I use another playlist. When I get into the car and connect my phone, I get the notification that the shortcut has been run, and if I open Music on CarPlay, the correct playlist is there, it just doesn't play automatically - I have to hit play to get it started. Same thing if I use another playlist in the shortcut - it shows on the screen, but doesn't play automatically.
Interestingly, if I create just a shortcut (no CarPlay Trigger) to play the playlist, it also doesn't play. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. If it helps, the playlist is the Downtempo Apple Playlist.
This all worked fine in the initial iOS 14 update. Thanks again for any insight...
Tried making a bunch of different shortcuts to play Apple Music. None of them play the selected playlist automatically. The playlist shows in Music, but it won't play automatically.
I have the same problem since update to 14.3; on the car screen it shows that it play, but it doesn't; when I start playing manually on the phone it plays through the car.
Same problem here after 14.3 update :(
