ipad having a dead zone

I just purchased my ipad 8th gen for Christmas and the apple pencil 1st gen as well. After a couple days of using it, the ipad had a vertical "dead zone" that would not let me write in. I have factor reset my ipad, repaired my pencil, made sure it was fully charged, replaced the tip, and updated my ipad. the problem is still there...Someone please help me!!! This is so frustrating.

It might be a hardware issue, but we cannot diagnose it remotely, sorry.

Contact Apple Support directly using this link:--> Get Support

or, since your device is still covered by warranty, make an appointment at an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and have your iPad and your Pencil inspected.
