Is it okay to reinstall Mac OS X v10.5.6 from original disc to my MacBook Pro early 2015? Have blinking question mark inside folder.

When I go to Disk Utility, I get msg that volume untitled is not journaled. Can't be resized. Cancel partitioning and use the Enable Journaling command under the File menu. When I went there the box was empty that asks to select the start up system to use. There is nothing in the box. So I'm wondering if I should just insert the Mac OS X install DVD I originally received when I purchased this machine? There is nothing on my computer that I worry about using. I have 2 iMacs, 2 iPads and an iPhone in addition to this MacBook which I use rarely.

If you have macOS 10.12.6+ installed at some point on this laptop, then just boot into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R which should boot to the online macOS 11.1 Big Sur installer.

Your 2015 MBPro did not ship with install DVDs so 10.5.6 will not work on a 2015 laptop. The oldest OS your laptop supports is 10.10.

If one of your other Macs is compatible with macOS 10.11 to 10.15 or 11.1, then you can also create a bootable macOS USB installer:
