Car play not going to dark maps fix!

Recently my car play stopped going to dark maps in the evening after I updated my iPhone to iOS 14. This really annoyed me until I remembered I turned off loads of system services on the advice of a YouTube channel in which they advised to turn off these to save battery. After turning them back on one by one late at night while parked in my driveway, my car play maps turned dark again. The culprit is system customisation. You can find it in settings, privacy, location services, system services. As soon as I turned it back on my maps turned dark.
