I had recently purchased new apple Macbook with M1 chip. But then realised that it does not support the docker images.
When will the support for docker will be provided? Will it be simple OS upgrade or does it require new M1 chip?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.0
That's not up to Apple to solve.
The app developer has to update it to support the new M1 and macOS architecture.

Most likely, this will require the Docker developers to recode their product to run on the M1 chip. I'm pretty sure it will not be the other way around that Apple will introduce new versions of this chip to work with specific apps.
Docker m1 preview version was released on Dec 10, 2020. It works fine as before. But be aware that some popular packages like elasticsearch doesnt still support ARM builds.
For now, Im running docker from remote linux vps, until most of the packages support arm64 build.
Hey there, I was finally able to get this to work on M1. Download the preview for M1, then reboot into Settings by turning on your mac without releasing the power button. Once you're there, go to Settings, and change the security settings from Full to one lower and check the first checkbox to allow users to install unsigned software. This will cause the preview of docker to work after you finish rebooting. Hope this helped!
The Docker M1 preview absolutely does not work on the new MacBook Air M1. It crashes immediately, every single time.
Are there any tutorials available for this? I've never set up a remote linux vps for docker.
