MacBook Air reboot from hard reset

I had done a hard wipe on macbook air, now when I reboot (holding option, command & R) I get to enter wifi password, the world maps spins but then everytime i get the exclamation point with a note to go to apple support.

Have you tried using a different Wi-Fi network for Internet Recovery? Usually it should work without issue, but Internet Recovery may fail if the Wi-Fi network in question uses a captive portal (such as hotel networks, which forward you to a secondary page for authentication).


Also, what code does it display onscreen when the exclamation mark appears?

Ok. Given that it's your home network it should be fine - it won't be using a captive portal.


Unfortunately Apple doesn't provide any details online as to what the error codes mean. You might have to contact Apple Support for this one.


However, you might want to try resetting NVRAM - for some reason it fixed the issue for someone who was having a similar issue: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
