Reinstall Lion not working in recovery mode.

I cleaned my disk because I tried using a Catalina bootable installer on my 2011 iMac which made it laggy. Once I did it shows me the folder with a ? So I went into recovery mode and my usb drive (around 400 gigabytes) wasn’t working so I cannot boot from there. When I go into recovery mode and I choose to reinstall lion, it tells me that he item is temporarily unavailable. I tried many solutions and it didn’t work except one which told me to log into my Apple ID in the get help safari. Whenever I try doing that, it tells me I do not have secure connection although I have a good WiFi. I tried fixing the date using terminal manually using “date ‘numbers’” which did not work either. I have been using a laggier old laptop with Win 10 that lags when I try to open google for my school work as a substitute. Please help me.

if your mac needs to start at lion then, no. lion is not free from apple. i don't know why they made that decision, but those are the facts. you may be able to find lion from a 3rd party seller (like eBay) but it of course would not be free either. your best bet is to buy it online direct from apple and install it yourself. alternatively, you may be able to find an authorized apple repair shop that can sell it to you and install it for you.
