i have a complex/large file with a bunch of calcs in it ... i would like to "manually" calculate the formulas so as not to burden the computer and slow the development or changes that I am doing ... i can't seem to find a way to do that in NUMBERS version 10.2 (7028.0.88)

You can't turn off calculation.
Usually when you end up with a complex/large file it's time to rethink how you are approaching the problem. There almost always ways to simplify.
What kinds of formulas are you using that slow down your computer in such a way>

oh that is unfortunate :(
lol most of the formulas are simple calcs ... lookups/stock quotes/calcs on that etc etc it is the size of the "data" that causes it to slow down ...
