iPhone 6 compatibility with Apple Card

I just received an Apple Card, but it doesn't show up in the wallet app on my iPhone 6 (A1586). As a result, I cannot activate the card. Are there any workarounds to manually add it to the wallet?

You will need an iPhone running iOS 13 or higher. It can't be activated on your iPhone 6.
