Turn off outgoing messages sound on MacBook Air

Is there a way to turn off the 'swoosh' sound that happens every time I send a message on my MacBook? It is really frustrating, especially when I am watching or listening to something, and I don't want to have to mute the entire computer just to not hear the swoosh. I know how to turn off incoming notification sounds, but have not seen a way to turn off the outgoing message sounds.

If this option does not exist - why not? I'm the kind of person that keeps my phone on vibrate 100% of the time, turns off keyboard click, etc. I'm not a fan of not being able to turn off all the sounds. Please help.

Hello solar-no-lar,

If we understand your post correctly, you want to know if there is a way to turn off the swoosh noise when you send a message on your MacBook. We'd like to help!

There is a way that you can turn down the sound effects that you get with some apps like the messages app when you send a message. To turn this down follow these steps:

 > System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects tab

Towards the bottom you will see a slider bar and next to it on the left it will be called Alert volume. Here is where you can set the volume of the sound effects up or down.
