Numbers on Mac - format number to date

How do i convert the date information in a csv file which comes in as yyyymmdd i.e. 20201121 in Numbers.?

I would like to format it as November 21, 2020.

Do i have to format it as 2020/11/21 and then format it to November 21, 2020?

You'd have to write a calculation that takes the number and formats it as a date.

For example...

DATE(LEFT(Cell Reference,4),MID(Cell Reference,5,2),RIGHT(Cell Reference,2))

...replacing "Cell Reference" with the cell that has the number in it.

At that point, you can format the cell with the date calculation to display however you want.
