Latency problem with MIDI keyboard

Hi All,

I recently upgraded Logic to 10.6.1 and have noticed that there are a couple of problems:

1) When I create a new software instrument and play a MIDI keyboard part live, I experience an annoying degree of latency that I have never experienced this before. I checked my Logic buffer size and it is 64, so I don't imagine this is the issue?

2) When I set up a software instrument it immediately creates a 'control surface set-up' window with MIDI keyboard icons. I don't know why it does this - it didn't before? (I also see 'auto installation is ticked in 'control surface setup'?)

Can someone please help resolve these issues?

Best,

I don't think you read my post correctly, there are menu options for both those actions which automatically reset Preferences and Control surfaces in the upper left Logic Pro Menu.

Under the menu heading "Preferences" and "Control Surfaces"

If you have specific preferences you've adjusted, make note of them.

Be sure to quit Logic after performing the operation and restrat the computer.

Logic's preference occasionally get corrupted.

Can't help you with this, hopefully someone using the latest software can jump in here.

I opt for stability, using an older machine with Logic 10.4.4 & 10.4.8.

since I can't te;; if you executed the procedures I outlined, I will leave this problem to others. Just so you know, these were USER forums, no one from Apple is here, we're all users like you.
