data transfer between iPhone SE and iPhone 11

I need to transfer the data from my old Iphone SE (iOS 11.2.6) to an Iphone 11 and was reading that wireless transfer doesn't work unless both phones are running iOS 12 or higher. What cables do I need for wired transfer? The instructions were confusing and at least to me indicated that two lightning cables were need. I am 74-years old and nothing less than a tech wizard - would appreciate advice on this subject.

Hello,

Is it possible for you to update the phones to the latest iOS? It says in wikipedia that the SE(1st gen) can be updated to 14.3 so it would be advisable to update to the lates iOS so you can use the wireless and the wired methods of transferring data.

For the wired you can watch this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvckUGtk60Y] where he shows how to transfer data with wires.

Skip to 6:10 where he starts the transfer between wires. What you need is a CCK dongle[https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter?fnode=eaadd3153706a53f86560a609fbac534e54d2f851c2f2923781aaf8ecf80bdf0a0b4a83a076e41018e64796dab766d9a7c3ff9b323dac6649e52a8a531196397c2187a764f0a42e2f4efeb290b18416bf7d33a7a06cee50530dd015af1dccee7ed6499c2914506fcfb66ed1f68590abd] a power brick, and 2 lightning cable(usb) for the transfer and for power

If you just recently bought the iPhone 11, you can go to the genius bar(service center) and ask for support :)

My parents are a bit younger than you and all I hear from them is that they both are too old for technology. If anything you should be proud of yourself of how you handled the situation. If that makes you feel any better, I will use your post and show my parents there is no need to be scared and all it takes is a bit of knowledge where to look for answers or where to ask the questions.

Thank you for your kind words, made my day! It's normal and only human to be scared of anything new, but I think this is mostly the fear of failure and for perhaps looking like a fool. But there is no fool like an old fool, and each and every mistake I make actually teaches me something new and brings me further ahead. So instead of berating myself for it, I look at each mistake as a learning experience that was actually quite helpful. And I google, google, google - no question is too stupid to be asked, Google is not judgmental, and I won't tell.
