Touch Bar

Before with my Touch Bar it would change depending on the app I was on (e.g. on Word the bold/underline/italics feature came up as an option and on YouTube a slider came along with the video enabling me to skip to different part of a video) but now no matter what I am on my Touch Bar stays the same. how do I get this back?

Verify your user preferences did not change,

or make some change:

>System preferences>Keyboard>>Keyboard >Touch bar shows etc

Customize the Touch Bar on MacBook Pro - Apple Support
