How do I do a bulk update in Contact on my Mac?

I'm a manager of an emergency team ~100 personnel. Annually I need to update their contacts. So, How do I do a bulk update in Contact on my Mac? I'm usually updating 1 to 4 fields, phone numbers, email. I have more contacts in my Contacts than the team members.

What do you mean by bulk update?

Do you need to change a particular field for all of them to the same value?

There is no simple way to make changes to a group of cards all at once.

It can be done with an AppleScript, but that is not necessarily easy, either.

You can export them as one vCard, edit the vCard with a Text Editor, then import the vCard back into Contacts (you'll have to delete the contacts you exported before importing the changed vCard).

I wish to update multiple cards all at one time. I’ve been doing it for years but I lost my instruction, only do it once a year. I don’t know how many fields per card. With -100 cards and as many 6 fields per card I don’t even check to see what needs to be changed. I believe I use smart groups to find only the cards that may need to be change. Sort the cards in the group alphabetically import the updates as csv file. The imports have been sorted also. Match the fields to be changed. I believe this changes all the information in all the fields for every card. So if the information was correct its still correct. But for the fields with incorrect information it’s replaced with the updated information.
