Yes, seriously.
What on earth are you talking about? It is not a process. It is the name of a website and here is a link to their claim of what they do and who they are:
https://macsecurity.net/about-us
And, since I have no clue who they are, I do not know if they are trustworthy, so, to begin with, I will not trust them.
Seriously? That's your final answer? A non Apple site has a process named https://macsecurity.net and all you can think of to do is mock me regarding 'do not believe everything you see or read or hear online'?
I didn't ask about a website. I asked about a process named macsecurity.net
Not gonna play. I know what a process is. I know what a website is. I found https://macsecurity.net looking in activity monitor. I went to the website because it is a process running on my MacBook Air with Bug Sur but not on my MacMini that I just use as a server so I don't surf the web on it.
I would suggest before you respond that you check to see if you have it running in your processes. I do.
Any website you are currently on shows up in Activity Monitor, especially if you use Safari.
I've no idea if this website is trustworthy but I always have concerns about any website that does not offer a street address.
Lastly, the folks who offer responses here are volunteers giving their time for free. Your requests and replies should reflect that.
No idea. There are hundreds of sites calling themselves "security" or whatever. They may or may not be.
As a general suggestion: do not believe everything you see or read or hear online.
I do not.
Additionally, you first asked about a process and then posted a link to a website. It would have helped to say "I see a process in activity monitor".
