Replacing iPhones
It is taking more than 24 hours to transfer from an iPhone xr to an iPhone 12. Is there some way to speed this up?

Per chance do you have an Apple Watch synced to your iPhone Xr? If so, you will want to unpair it first before attempting to transfer data between phones.

Ok, if you done so before starting the transfer, the actual amount of time it can take transfer data from one device to another can vary depending on a few different factors. For example, when you started the process, did you choose wireless or wired transfer? Transferring directly from iPhone to iPhone typically takes 5-10 minutes and if you’re using iCloud, you should be able to start using your iPhone about 15 minutes after the transfer starts and the rest downloads in the background over Wi-Fi.
I used wireless which averages 100mbs at my home. I may have unpaired the xr and paired the 12 to my watch after the transfer started which could have caused the slow transfer. I am not sure how to resolve this except to start over from iCloud
I unpaired the watch from the xr and paired it to the 12.
I would guess that is the reason. At this point, if it was me, I would stop the transfer, and restart it as you suggested.
