MacOS 10.15 QuickTime doesn't like variable frame rate movies?
I received an mp4 movie from a client where they had transcoded a video we created for them to add a disclaimer and also a semitransparent watermark. I believe they used ffmpeg to do this. The video plays fine in MacOS 10.12 and 10.13 but does not play well in 10.15. It's audio only after the disclaimer text. VLC is a little happier with it in 10.15.

mediainfo shows the file has a variable frame rate. Is this a bug in MacOS 10.15 QuickTime? I recall other forum posts here that video created with new iPhones have variable frame rates and FCPX is not happy with them, but I didn't know that QT wouldn't be happy with them either.
