open/update apps macbook air 2017

unable to download or open garage band app. I am given an update option but the update never completes, it just have the spinning wheel like the MacBook is trying to update but does not.

When I open the App Store and go to the "Update" section, I see all my apps that need an update. As soon as I click on "update" on any app the little open circle starts to spin. After a few seconds, the circle stops spinning and stalls. Even after waiting for 30 minutes nothing happens. Rebooting my Mac didn't help. My network is working fine and I tried downloading the updates over Wifi and Ethernet. As of now to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards

Apple iWork apps won't update I just got a new Macbook Air running Big Sur. I needed to update the operating software, which was no problem. However, it won't update Numbers, Pages, Keynote, iMovie, or Garage Band. It just spins the update wheel, but nothing happens. Any Ideas?
