Spam blockers for iPhones??

After over 30 years of using Apple products I have just ordered an iPhone.

I can see that changing the inbuilt settings will reduce unwanted calls but, should I buy a Spam blocker too. And, what about email checkers?

Advice would be most welcome. Thank you.
