iPad does not ring when I receive a call on my iPhone

Both are on ios 14. They are both within the continuity requirements. The steps under article "Make and receive calls on your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch" have been checked:

  • Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID. -> YES
  • Each device is signed in to FaceTime with the same Apple ID. -> YES
  • Each device has Wi-Fi turned on. -> YES
  • Each device is connected to the same network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet. -> YES
  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices. -> It was already turned on, as it was previously functioning
  • On your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone. -> It was already turned on, as it was previously functioning

I similarly checked FaceTime and Messages. I can receive FaceTime calls and text messages on my iPad, just not the regular calls. And this function used to work! I even restored both my devices to factory settings and did a whole restore from iCloud and reset both devices. Still no changes

What am I doing wrong? What should I check next? Or could this be a bug within the ios?

Thanks in advance!

This may suggest that your WiFi network is not forwarding traffic between network clients.

For your WiFi network, have you mistakenly enabled any privacy features - such a PSPF or other privacy feature. To be clear, this will be a setting on your WiFi Router - or if used, any WiFi Access Points or network extenders.

If everything was previously working - and you have made no changes to your WiFi network or its configuration, a restart of your network components may resolve the problem. You’ll need to restart your network devices in the correct order. Assuming that you WiFi Router provides DNS services for your network, restart devices in this order - allowing time for devices to fully boot/restart prior to restarting other devices:

  • WiFi Router
  • Upstream wired Network Switch(es)
  • WiFi Access Points / Network Extenders
  • Other fixed infrastructure devices - such as Printers
  • Client devices

Restarting your iPad, after restarting other devices in the correct sequence, is most simply achieved by a forced-restart of the iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

Update:

If the iPad is connected to the iPhone hot spot, then the iPad does ring. But when they both are just connected to the same wifi, it does not. The router and wifi connection is working. While both are connected to the same wifi, the messages and FaceTime calls can be seen on iPad. Just not the cellular phone calls

Does anyone have a clue why?
