can apple watch series 3 be synced with iphone 6

i am unable to sync apple watch series 3 with iphone 6, the phone is updated to maximum allowed by apple. watch is brand new new been synced with any other phone.

If the watch has WatchOS7 then you need a phone with ios14,an iphone 6 will only update to ios12.
