Numbers Version 10.3.5 running on MacBook Air M1 / Big Sur

I am experiencing extremely frequent problems with Numbers, where cells containing formula appear to remain empty, when in fact their formula is valid and should generate a result. It even happens when the identical formula has been re-copied to a cell where it previously worked.

Sometimes closing Numbers and reopening the file appears to remedy the problem, sometimes not. I can not spot any patterns whatsoever, except that it occurs on all files that were created in Numbers 10.3.5

In 30 years of working with computers, particularly with spreadsheets, I have not seen anything as mysterious as this. The problem seems unrelated to size and complexity of a spreadsheet, or the type of formula.

PS: The same also happens on my iMac which runs Numbers 10.3.5 on macOS Catalina.

Since you've been working with computers for 30 years, can it be assumed that you have done all the usual troubleshooting?

-- Shut down your Mac and restarted.

-- Tested on a new document.

-- If your documents are stored in iCloud, made sure you're signed in, Numbers.app is checked (behind the Options button next to iCloud Drive)

-- Uninstalled Numbers and redownloaded from the Mac App Store.

-- Tried running Numbers under another user account on your machine.

-- Checked to see if the problem also occurs with your document in Numbers for iCloud at iCloud.com.

-- Checked the Activity Monitor to make sure there isn't another app or process on your computer that is hogging resources or memory?

This is definitely something specific to your machines. Numbers runs as smooth as butter on my machine (now 10.3.5 on Catalina), and has been doing so for years.
