read Android SDcard on Mac OS Big Sur?

That SD card should be formatted FAT32 or exFAT. If it is written in any Linux EXT[2-4]/BTRFS filesystem formats, the Mac cannot handle those. Although likely redundant for you, Apple has the article, About the SD and SDXC card slot on your Mac.


Wondering out loud if you couldn't put the SD card back in the Android Phone, mount that phone to your Desktop as a USB Mass Storage Device, and use Bluetooth File transfer to access the SD card filesystem from the phone itself.

connecting the Android cell with a USB cable to the iMac USB slot; that works, once the Android FTP app loaded and I allowed MTP to run on the cell. Thanks info. However the dedicated card slot on the iMac should work, but does not. The Apple article was not much helpful or clear on this. It tells that depending on book or desktop the slot uses different channels ... I get how to use System Report to check.
