I just installed an iTunes update on my MacBook so I can back up my iPhone to iTunes. The installation is complete but I cannot open iTunes- says it's still being updated. Is there something else I need to do?
For that I can understand that you are using Catalina or Big Sur and haven't found iTunes, right?
In those systems you don't have iTunes anymore. Finder is now responsible for that job

Reboot your computer and see if iTunes opens normally. If not reinstall.
