iPad camera quality

Just bought two brand new 8th gen iPads and both have absolutely terrible camera quality. Front and rear cameras. It is so grainy the pictures look like cartoons on both iPads. Messed with HDR and live settings and made no difference. The picture are worse than old school flip phone camera pictures. Is this how they are supposed to be?

The front facing camera is only for FaceTime video because this is the same low quality 1.2mp camera lens Apple keeps insisting on using in their iPads since 8 years ago, starting with the 2012 iPad 3rd generation.

The front camera is completely crummy for any type of selfie images.

The rear camera is a respectable 8mp camera, but without a back camera LED flash, that 8mp camera lens requires a decent amount of light being shined into it to get good quality images with minimal graininess and to shoot better quality video using that back camera with no graininess to the video.

This back camera lens is is the same camera lens setup that Apple introduced/used in the older 2015/2016 iPad Pro models AND the 2017-2019 5th, 6th and 7th gen base model iPads.

Hope this info helps.
