Very Slow Migration Assistant using Thunderbolt 2-3

I am trying to transfer 3TB of files from an older iMac 27" to a new iMac 27" via Migration Assistant using Thunderbolt 2-3 connection. Transfer rates are 7-11MB/s and I have a projected completion time in 110 hours. Is this "speed" up to par for migration assistant with my configuration? Any suggestions that don't require a computer engineering degree?

Migration assistant question Hi, I'm trying to run Migration Assistant from a 2011 27" iMac to a 2022 24" iMac. The 2011 only has thunderbolt 1 which I don't think is compatible in any way with the Thunderbolt 3 on the new one. We got the higher end 24" iMac with ethernet port in the power brick. Other than ethernet (which it says will take 55 hours to transfer less than a TB of data) is there any better option to move our contents over? Thanks,

Migration Assistant Delay Transferring my data from my 10 yr old I MAC 21.5 to my new IMac 24 via ethernet cable between machines has taken over 12 hours and has been stating only 4 minutes remaining for 3 hours. It is still moving files and indicates it is moving over 520,000 files currently. My drive is mostly photos over the past 10 yrs and some home videos and music with only 5 gb or so of other documents. Is this normal to take so long via ethernet cable? My old mac has 720 GB of data that is is transferring to my new 2 TB hard drive on the new mac.

Does my 2012 27" IMac allow transfer via Migration Assistant via a Thunderbolt cable? I have tried the transfer twice via cat 5 ethernet and it doesn't seem to work. Data transfer from my old 27" to my new 24" doesn't work very well with ethernet cable. What Thunderbolt cable do I need ?
