I’m doing a free trial of Apple TV. Signed up using my iPhone. What’s free to watch? Can I access Apple TV on a Smart TV? What about Roku?

It depends on your smart tv and whether they have an Apple TV app. I have an older TV and I use Apple TV via a Roku.

Be aware that the free trial is Apple TV+ and not Apple TV. Even with an Apple TV+ subscription you can purchase other content in Apple TV that is not in Apple TV+.
