Software update issue

I can not open the software update through settings.. i was actually trying to transfer my data from an old phone to iphone but i cant transfer using a wifi or bluetooth its always failed-2.. i sent a photo. When i connected my old phone to my laptop to itunes it is detecting that the version 14.2 isn’t installed yet to my phone. When i tried to open it to my settings then to sofware update, it will suddenly close.. i hope somebody could help me.. thanks

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Just to confirm, you're unable to access Software Update in Settings? Is that correct? If so, you may need to update the iPhone using a computer instead:

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
