Do Not Disturb

For some reason the Do Not Disturb is checked off so I can’t hear anyone calling or texting me.....

Can you tap it and remove the check mark? Have you tried turning Do Not Disturb on, restarting the phone, and then turning Do Not Disturb off to see if that removes the check mark?
