Sorting Video Files An Event

Hello,

I am working on a project in FCP with several thousand clips from my Pacific Crest Trail thru hike. We shot the video with two camera's (GoPro Hero 8 Black, and Sony RX100 V.) The issue I am having is sorting the clips by the date they were created in the Event folder.

Because the footage was shot with two separate camera's I am having issues with FCP sorting them by the date the content was created. When I toggle the 'Sort by/Group by' menu to 'Content Created' FCP still wants to separate them by the camera they were shot on. For example, it will organize the clips by the date in descending order, but will have two "July 13, 2016" and display the clips by the time stamp they were created. I would like to merge both camera clips despite what they were shot on, and view them by the day and time they were shot so I can tell the story in order as it happened. Please help, thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. Here is a few screen shots that I hope show the behavior. In the first photo you will see 'July 11, 2016'. You will notice the title of the clips begin with 'GH' as they were shot on the GoPro. The 4 clips are in order from the date and time they were shot. In the second photo you will also see 11 clips in another 'July 11, 2016' starting with clip 'C0011.' These are also organized by the date/time. Both of these are in the same event titled 'Washington,' but are being organized by the camera they were shot with, not my desired date created settings. I hope this describes the issue. Let me know what you think, thanks.
