flashlight during video call

On iPhone during video call (FaceTime, Skype, etc) using rear camera I cannot turn on the rear flashlight. There's no option in the applications, and the flashlight icon is grayed out in bottom menu.

Any idea?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you want to be able to use your flashlight during a FaceTime call.

The flashlight is not intended to function during a FaceTime call. However, you can leave Product Feedback.

If the flashlight is grayed out at any other time, service would be required. Please see: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working and the section "If the flash isn't working"
