I purchased Ringtones on iTunes how do I get to work on my iphone?

I purchased some ringtones, from iTunes. They wont show up in my "Ringtones" on my iPhone. they show up as music, but not as ringtones. Therefore, I cant use them as ringtones on my iPhone. H E L P ! I feel I wasted my money. Is there a way to move the newly purchased ringtones to my "ringtones"?

To purchase ringtones on iTunes, you first purchase the song. Then, to convert it into a ringtone, you must PURCHASE it again, this time as the ringtone. Did you do this?

No, that is not what I am doing. When you go to iTunes, you can BUY just ringtones. They are not songs, they are tones. Anyhow, I bought many, they are just sounds, and I cant get them to show in my Ringtones category on my iPhone. They will show up as music, but not in ringtones. So I can not asssign them as my default or to a contact member.. etc.

If they show up as songs, then they are not ringtones. I think you are confused about the ringtone process.

You bought a sound file/song that can be made into a ringtone. Even if it says ringtone, that is a description of the sound file. You must still create the ringtone.

There are many free ways to do this. Google will find them.

I must not be good at explaining. If you go to iTunes, do a search on Ringtones. they have ringtones you can buy. they are like 15 seconds or so, and they sound like an old telephone ring, horn etc. I bought them, they landed in my puchased list. Here are the steps on the iphone =settings=sounds=ringtone. When you get thro those steps on the iPhone you get a list of ringtones you can use, that were already on the phone. and you can choose from that list for your default tone, or put them with contacts. So how do I get them on that list?

I understand exactly. I see them in itunes. We have answered this very question countless times on this forum. You misunderstand the process. You are NOT buying complete, ready to go on the iphone ringtones.

You bought sound files of ringtones. With iphone, you still have to create the actual ringtone that will sync to the iphone to use as a ringer.

You can create the ringtone many different ways for free.

Google "iphone ringtone"

Ok, I think I starting to understand. When I look at the ringtones I bought they say "Purchased A A C audio file" do you know what that means?

It's just the type of song file you buy from itunes.

You need to create a ringtone by following the instructions in the link I gave or using Garageband (if you have a Mac) or by one of the other methods that Google will find.
