Why is there an orange dot on my I phone when I am on a phone call?

iOS 14 added a feature that helps you be more aware of your privacy..

camera and microphone, both could be used for such things right?

When you install a new app, you give them permission to use these components.. ie Zoom for meetings

How do you know when they are using your microphone and camera? You didn't.. and now you have a means to.

When you are on a phone call, your microphone is being used. That is why you see the orange dot
