Hello, I sent my wife a text that says “oo okay”, upon receipt she immediately received another text says Emphasises “ok boo” (We always refer to each other as “boo”

how is that possible bearing in mind that I did not sent such a second message?

Hello again tangi160,

Thanks for reaching back out to us. The emphasized effect is an iMessage feature known as Tapback. It is a built-in part of iMessage, so there is no way to manually enable or disable it. You can get more info on this feature here:

Use message effects with iMessage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

The info you need is found under "Respond to a message with expressions".

Best regards!

Hi there tangi160,

We can understand the concern of the second text being received after the iMessage was emphasized. We're happy to provide some insight into this for you. Is your wife using an Android device? Did you emphasize that message after you sent it? If so, this is expected behavior. Any iMessage that is liked, loved, emphasized, etc. sends a text to the Android user. We hope this helps you.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any questions.

Have a great day!
