VU meters mssing from track header

VU meters mssing from track header

My VU meters are missing from the track headers.

Don't know why they have disappeared. They weren't there when I opened the application this morning. I can't find how to get them back. Help is not helpful.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Reinstalling the application didn't change anything.

The same problem appears in GarageBand in Catalina 10.15.7. A hardware problem? Can't see why that would impact an application interface display.
