If I read a text/imessage on my phone, it will remain marked as unread on my watch. I have to open the message in my watch separately.

Hi there, Jenlee77s!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It spins like you have an issue with your messages showing unread on your Watch when you have read them on your iPhone. First, let's check some settings on your Watch. Check out this article to Read messages on Apple Watch and be sure you have selected "Mirror my iPhone" in the Watch app > My Watch > Messages. Do you happen to have iCloud for Messages turned on? You can check out this article to Keep all your messages in iCloud for more information.

Let's also be sure you have followed the steps in these articles to Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and Update your Apple Watch to be sure you have the latest software available to your devices.

Next, check out these articles to Restart your iPhone and then How to restart your Apple Watch. Once the devices have been restarted, test to see if you still have an issue.

If you're still having issues, please try these steps to Unpair and erase your Apple Watch and then set the Watch back up again.

Let us know the results and have a great day!
