Notification volume

Hello. Problem with notification volume. The volume changes spontaneously. Notification sounds become quieter. Also, the sound of the screen lock becomes quieter when you press the power key. If volume control is selected with buttons, then the volume is not controlled by the scale in the control panel and vice versa. At the same time, everything is in order with the volume of the ringtone. The problem is common. There are tons of discussions on this issue online.

Thank you but no. The volume of notifications, the volume of the screen lock sound, the volume of the typing sound on the keyboard, change spontaneously. Regardless of which volume control method is selected. In most scenarios, it is quiet and no notifications are heard, although the maximum is selected in the settings. Again, the problem is not new and widespread.

Very similar to a conflict with either Siri or face id

Thanks

Hello! The volume changes spontaneously, even if attention is turned off. It doesn't matter, it still changes spontaneously. Basically, the notification volume is quiet, which is very bad. I don't want it to go down, I don't want to miss notifications. But this is happening.

Why? Why is the ringer volume always at its maximum, but no notification volume? Why can I control the volume of the video being played, I can also control volume the music, I can also control volume the ringtone, but there is no notification? What is the volume control for then? On the forum at the link that is indicated above, they discuss exactly this problem. Exactly THIS. I have not seen this on any other smartphone.

Thank you

Hi COOLAGA,

We understand your notification volume is changing. We're happy to help.

To adjust the settings so your notification volume always stays at the same level, navigate to Settings > Sounds & Haptics, and turn off the Change with Buttons option. Then adjust the volume slider to the level you want it at.

When you have the Change with Buttons option turned on, both your media and notification volume will be the same. So as an example, say you play music and you press the volume buttons to turn the volume down. The next time you get some sort of notification, it will play at that low volume level as well. When you have Change with Buttons turned off, your notification volume will always remain the same no matter what you last changed your media volume to.

Adjust the volume on iPhone

We hope this helps. Take care!

Hi COOLAGA,

Thanks for the update!

So even after turning Change with Buttons off, and setting the volume level in the sound settings, the notification volume is still changing. Another thing we'd recommend checking if you're using an iPhone model without a home button, is that you have the Attention Awareness turned off. You can find this setting in Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Attention Awareness Features.

If you have this option turned on, the device will automatically turn down the notification volume if you're looking at the device at the time the notification comes in.

Aside from that, we'd recommend basic steps like checking for available updates or restarting your device.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

If you still have issues with the notification volume randomly changing on its own, you'd want to contact Apple Support directly for assistance: Get Support

Cheers!
