Airpod replacement will not refund

I ordered a Left ear airpod replacement for 69$ from the Apple store repair whatever. Well right after I placed the order I realized I ordered the wrong ear to replace. I immediately called Apple and start a chat with support. They told me, after 2 hours of being switched to adviser after adviser that the only thing I can do is let it ship to me and then return it but just writing return to sender on in the box. So today I receive the replacement and again after 2 hours and speaking with multiple advisers I was told there was no way for me to return it bc there’s no return label and because they have no way of tracking it and if it was returned. I’m livid. Has anyone dealt with this before ?????

I ordered a replacement airpod after thinking that I lost one (and having a moment of mild panic and impulse buying the replacement). Was never told that replacements are non-returnable, and about an hour after ordering the replacement I found the "lost" airpod. Contacted Apple support to cancel the order (assuming it would be fine because the order had been placed only an hour before) and was told that there would be no problems canceling the order and was assured that I would be refunded and the order would be canceled. Two days go by and I get an email that the order has shipped... contact Apple Support again to inquire about why my order wasn't canceled in the first place and am told that somehow the order went through too quickly to cancel it and that there isn't a return label in the package. Then get redirected to another rep just to get told that replacement/repair items are non-returnable.
