Why is split view possible only side by side and not one up and one down (expecially in vertical mode)?

The iPadOS Split Screen is only available in the Landscape Screen orientation - not Portrait. As for why, other than Apple deciding to only support Landscape, we cannot offer a definitive explanation.

I hope this feature will be implemented soon, Apple is always good "a lasciare le cose a metà" (an Italian saying for those who don't finish the jobs they start).
