Hi,

First of all, the Epson XP-400 is an AirPrint printer (About AirPrint - Apple Support). This means that you can use the printer without a driver. The printer and the Mac (and an iPhone/iPad) must be connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Drivers/software from the printer manufacturer may or may not add functionality. Check that you have the latest drivers (choose the correct operating system before downloading):

Do not install drivers from an old CD. Also, a setup program on CD is often not necessary. There are typically several ways to configure a printer manually (see the user's guide which you can get via the same support page).

It may be good idea to reset the printing system if there is a problem in connection with new drivers.
