Unable to reset watch

I recently upgraded to the new iPhone 12. My watch was paired to my previous phone. The phone was reset before I could unpair my watch. When I open the watch app on my phone it won't allow me to pair my watch because it's already paired. My watch is not giving me the option to enter my passcode. I can't figure out how to reset it. Help! There is no "I" icon and it just tells me that my device is locked.
