What shows on the account's purchase history ? Was it an actual charge, a subscription, in-app purchase, temporary authorisation hold ?
It could be that you activated an in-app purchase. Contact Apple Support to get a refund if you believe that was done in error. http://getsupport.apple.com
Yes it showed as a purchase and apple sent a receipt !
