Email body not displaying but preview shows text.

Hi,

I have been experiencing a consistent problem with emails from one sender. When I open mail I see who the message is from and a preview of the first few words of text, if I then open this message it displays no text at all. If I forward the message all of the text becomes present.

Any ideas what might be causing this? It displays fine on Mobileme and Apple mail on the Mac, it just seems to be an iPhone bug.

Any help greatly appreciated.

This just started happening to me. I can see all my email and I can see a few lines of preview text. But the message will not display when I tap on it.

I deleted the IMAP account from the phone and then re-added it. Still didn't fix it.

Did a restart of the phone like other poster suggested and it fixed it. Still seems like a pretty weird bug.

IMAP server is Zimbra. iOS 4 on the phone.

Just started having the same problem, in preview can see the body text, but when I open the email, nothing. Try to forward or reply, still nothing in the body of the email.

Rebooted phone and now it works, pretty strange problem that originated in 2004 and has now re-appeared in 2010...

Force quit mail and reopen mail and this should fix things without rebooting the phone. I think it has to do with the receipt of certain emails in a particular format, maybe even meeting requests of a certain type but I have not pinpointed it yet.

I have the same problem too - on the first day of using my iPhone 4! Not impressed, as I use this phone in replacement of a normal phone + Blackberry. My job depends on me being able to email!

The problem gets "fixed" once I restart my phone, but that is an inefficient solution.

I started having the same problem and was relieved that others were experiencing the same issue. Couldn't load the body of the text and also couldn't type in the body of a new email.

The solution suggested by MPower seems to work. Just force mail to quit in the multitasking dock and relaunch. No need to restart the phone.
